I just joined a website for author's to post information about their books.  During the sign up process the site asked for me to describe myself, so I wrote:

Writing allows me time to chauffeur my two teens around Vancouver BC.

It also asked for a description of my educational background.  I entered this:

A love of science motivated me to get a Biology degree.  The love for my wife drove me to follow her into Psychology.  A desire to learn why she loved me propelled me into graduate studies on human decision making and memory.  The loss of my wife left me with an emptiness.  Writing has filled that void and allowed me to integrate all of  my past loves.

Advertising on Facebook

Just started my first ad campaign for Socialite 1.  I decided to try Facebook ads since the books are about a social network that becomes really popular, though it was initially created by a man trying to find the perfect husband for his unborn daughter.
Facebook makes it really easy to sign up, construct the ad and choose the audience.  At the end of the process it said that it will be seen by as many as 15 million people in the USA - that's pretty cool, if it's accurate.  I set a max amount of money for the campaign, so that I can easily assess the return on my investment.  I will post another entry about the results of this campaign at the end of November, when the money is projected to run out.

Securing a future ...

My life has taken a new direction as I have self-published four novels this week.  So far they are only located on Amazon, but over the next week I plan to publish them at more locations.  Future posts here, and on Facebook.com/socialitebooks, will have more information about those books, and the new ones that I'm currently writing.

I look forward to hearing readers comments :)
